Lucia and I went to Mercury Insurance Headquarters today, after we found this “unwritten rule” that Mercury appears to have instructed agents to follow: “If the husband was much younger than the wife, we couldn’t entertain the account.” Mercury is the $10 million funder of Prop 17.
